It is that time of the year again where we dig into our pockets and do something for the greater good. Over the years we have raised $6000+ for various charitable organizations. We started with a charity drive to Child's Play in 2009, then Susan B. Komen for the Cure in 2010 and just last year we donated to Extra Life.
This year we will be donating the money that the members of the Acolytes give to Feed the Children (www.feedthechildren.org).

Because we are an International community we will be donating to Feed the Children's International program (http://www.feedthechildren.org/site/..._intl_programs).
All donations go directly into our PayPal account and are then donated to the charity either via PayPal (we've been lucky in the past that most places have taken PayPal) or by a Credit Card payment from either myself or Hieru (with the donations from you reimbursing that). We have an open book policy on this and will always provide you, at your request, with the total amount donated. This year we will keep track of who donated and how much they donated on the forums (in previous years we used a silent method). If you do not feel like donating towards the Acolytes Charity Drive then John and myself urge you to make a donation in your own name to a charity of your choosing.
October itself is a not just Breast Cancer Awareness month, but it is also National Community Outreach month. No matter what you do, be it a small donation or spending your free time at a soup kitchen, or with disadvantaged youth it matters. The smallest of things can make the biggest of impacts.
John and myself urge all of you to take time out of your busy schedules and to dig into your coffers and make a donation to serve those who are not as lucky as we are to have food on our tables, roofs over our head and fancy gaming equipment to occupy our free time.
Not everyone reads the forums, so we would appreciate it if you posted notice in your game of choice and urged your guildmates to donate their time or money and help make this a success four years running.
The goal for this year is $2,000. In years past we have easily reached $1,500 with half as many people as we have now. As in past years, John and myself will match $0.25 of every dollar you donate to the charity event. That means if we reach our goal of $2000 we will donate an additional $500.00 bringing the total to $2500.00. We will run the Charity through November 30th, 2012.
To make a donation via the Acolytes you can follow the PayPal donation button on the forums main page on the right hand side labeled "Acolyte Charity Drive". By doing this it sends us a message saying what you donated for, so if you accidentally donate to the wrong drive (we are also doing the yearly website upkeep drive at the same time) just let me know and I can make sure to mark the money for the correct amount.
